Heavy Truck Mechanic

o Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; troubleshoots when necessary;
o Performs maintenance and repair tasks on heavy trucks as required; identifies worn and damaged parts; replaces as needed.
o Keeps vehicles and equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades;
o Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, brake, steering, hydraulics/pneumatics; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
o Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
o Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
o Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
o Executes scope of responsibility in accordance with work instructions, specifications, standards and process controls.
o Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs; completes all process documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
o Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
o Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.
o Support and function within a Lean Manufacturing environment or is willing to learn and utilize Lean concepts and tools for that purpose.
o Responsible for maintaining facilities, tools, work area, and shop/office to a safe, organized, and clean state through daily 5S activities.
o Other duties as assigned.
o Minimum of two years heavy duty mechanic experience.
o Experienced troubleshooting and repairing automobiles and/or heavy trucks
o Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without a lifting device.
o Willingness to perform work in a non-traditional manor, performing work and providing support where ever needed to keep production and the program moving toward identified targets
o Ability to take directions & troubleshoot problems, sometimes under pressure.
o Positive attitude; must be a team player.
o Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, Military wheeled vehicle experience a plus.

Lisa started her HR career in Arizona as a human resources manager for Creative Leather Furniture. During her 11-year tenure, Lisa was responsible for recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and accounts receivable.
