IT Project Engineer

Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will provide technical oversight. Also utilize technical and complex problem solving and analytical skills on various projects requiring the use of advanced techniques and technical skills in information technology and related sciences or disciplines. Authority to make decisions on IT project problems and methods for the department to resolve important questions, including occasional supervision of other engineers; Consults supervisor or project manager concerning unusual problems and developments.

Key Accountabilities:
Manage projects to ensure accurate delivery of projects in scope, on time and within budget.
Initiate and propose scope and design changes.
Directs activities of engineers providing design, specification and cost analysis
Establishes company standards and practices.
Must be able to make sound decisions under limited time constraints.
Participates and may lead Process Improvement teams.
Oversee test procedures, investigate new technologies, materials and equipment.
Develop models and analyze complex data in order to recommend improvement programs, tech-niques, and/or solutions

Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in an information technology or engineering related discipline
Knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through 4-plus years of IT Project Technical Lead or related experience
In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 10 years IT experience including 4 years of IT Project Technical Lead experience
PMP certification preferred
Responsible for complex scope for cross functional projects meeting established metrics including requirements
Experienced in tracking and analyzing metrics for requirement traceability coverage, etc.
IT Testing/Quality Assurance Experience to ensure project is delivered with zero defects
Proven track record of client and customer satisfaction
Demonstrated communication skills that translate technical information into practical business concepts
Knowledge/skills using continuous improvement tools, (i.e. AAR, Process Mapping) is preferred
Advanced knowledge and experience with defining scope, requirements, tracking and analyzing metrics for requirement coverage, etc.

His commitment and training in these fields evolved into a Facility Security Officer role with active security clearances in support of government agencies and their supplier base.

Rick achieved his advancements via business administration and engineering studies and maintains robust engineering acumen today.
