Vehicle Specification Specialist
The Vehicle Specification Specialist plans, organizes and directs the fleet management program, including acquisition, utilization, repair and replacement of the vehicle and equipment fleet
Specify truck requirements from small vehicles through larger distribution trucks and specialty equipment (i.e. F-150, Pie Wagons, Buckets, Prentice Loaders, Manlifts, etc). Work with vendors partners to secure quotations and verify delivers. Assist with identifying and working through asset defects identified in the field. Manage a number of vehicle projects related to specifying, retrofitting company assets.
In addition, will perform the following tasks:
Create, book and close repair orders.
Update status of repairs and request purchase orders for completed repairs.
Technical Aptitude: specify light duty and medium duty vehicles, specialty equipment.
Interpersonal Skills: will be interacting with BU to assess truck requirements, union and staff personnel
Project Management: will need to have experience in managing large projects (establishing, tracking, coordinating,
measuring, scheduling, etc.)
Knowledge of DOT regulations is required
Ability to work flexible schedules
Additional duties are required on an as needed basis by Shop Manager
Valid CDL license (or ability to obtain) is required
